In a move that will shock absolutely no one, ABC has renewed Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. But in slightly more interesting news, the network has also green lit a second Marvel show, Agent Carter.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was one of last year's most anticipated series. While the show wasn't the ratings juggernaut some had hoped for, its overall numbers were more than enough to warrant season two. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s ratings were also enough to get Agent Carter a straight-to-series order, meaning the show will not have to go through the typical pilot process.
Set in 1946, Agent Carter follows the exploits of Peggy Carter, played by Hayley Atwell (see breasts above). As you may remember, Carter was the love interest of Steve Rogers (a.k.a. Captain America). With the war over and "Cap" on ice, Carter finds herself without a job and without her man. This prompts her to begin working as a spy for Howard Stark (Iron Man's dad) and the Strategic Scientific Reserve. You can imagine where it goes from here (she fixes the cable). (Source)
