Us Bond fanatics will have to wait until Friday morning to hear the song in its entirety, but a 90-second snippet of the new theme song from Adele for Skyfall, the 23rd 007 film in the 50-year old franchise, has found its way online. On par with everything director Sam Mendes has been saying about the direction of his Bond film, moving the franchise back to classic-era Connery Bond, the theme has echoes of Bond-chanteuse Shirley Bassey, sounding like a mix of Goldfinger and Moonraker.
It's got hints of the Monty Norman theme song in the orchestral arrangement, complete with Adele's typical high-note crooning that will surely excite all her fans and fans of Bond alike, who are all ready to wash the taste of that dreadful Jack White produced and co-sung Another Way to Die out of our mouths.
Skyfall opens nationwide in the U.S. November 9th.
