Michael Garcia - August 31, 2016

Last December the world lost one of the greatest artists of the last hundred years. I'm talking of course of Lemmy Kilmister of the band Motorhead. He passed away after a battle with cancer. The world mourned and wondered how they could honor his memory. The answer is a crowd sourced bronze statue of Lemmy at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in Los Angeles. The statue is very detailed with his signature boots, hat, and medals featured prominently. The artist Travis Moore did his research, even meeting with the guy who made Lemmy's custom boots. It is the least that the world could do for such an iconic figure.

It also means a lot that his fans paid for it through crowd sourcing. Motorhead's fans are loyal and they were going to come out and put their money down for their fallen hero.
