Fans of the Bourne franchise, the one originally headed by Matt Damon and the one that's currently starring Jeremy Renner, will be pleased to hear that the future for the Bourne series is a bright and long one.
Empire recently sat down with the director and co-writer of The Bourne Legacy, Tony Gilroy, the movie's producer, Frank Marshall, and starring actor Jeremy Renner. The details they revealed about a possible fifth movie is, by no exaggeration, freaking awesome!
Marshall dropped a few interesting tidbits as he talked about the future of the Bourne's movie legacy.
You see there are several different [programs] in the movie with different skill sets. All possibilities are open. My dream is that in the next one we see Matt and Jeremy team up.
-- Frank Marshall, The Bourne Legacy producer
In the meantime, Renner talked a bit more about the character he plays in the movie, Aaron Cross.
Aaron is coming from a completely different background to Jason [Bourne]. He knows exactly who he is; he signed up to this...He wants to be part of a team. I can tell you he was in the military then he joined the [program]. He's a person who wants to be part of something... to have a sense of purpose. But then it's taken away.
-- Jeremy Renner
Looks to be quite an interesting fifth movie, don't you think?
