CELEBS
Echo Lawrence - December 7, 2022
We know cancel culture is over, but we're still very much pro calling someone out on their BS, like Jennifer Lawrence who is getting trolled hard after she sat down with actress Viola Davis for Variety Magazine this week to talk about film, her career and some other things in their series called Actors on Actors.
A clip from the interview is going vial right now because the actress said that there were no female protagonists in films before she appeared in The Hunger Games. She also played up how important that role was, not just for her, but for the world as a whole, like it was some ceiling breaking activism for a gender. To anyone who knows a bit about movies, which apparently the people of twitter do, her statement sounds crazy. She clearly didn't cross-reference IMDB to get her facts straight because she's totally wrong, but Viola Davis agreed with J.Law's opinion, nodding along, probably because she was not even listening to the nonsense being spewed.
I think the actress is just exposing herself for being a little too into herself and her work, is that her ego believing in all that J.Law hype. Maybe she is just exposing herself for not seeing many films, like, at all, like an industry vixen who has only seen her own movies. Jennifer has obviously never seen Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta, Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider, Mila Jovovich in Resident Evil, Sigourney Weaver in Alien, Demi Moore in G.I. Jane, the list goes on.
Either that or her founder, Harvey Weinstein, has been sending her coded messages through his lawyers on what agenda she's due to push this season. Here's the now viral clip:
"We were told girls and boys could both identify with a male lead, but boys cannot identify with a female lead," Jennifer Lawrence says of taking on the role of Katniss in #TheHungerGames. https://t.co/TqYPwDLCC4 pic.twitter.com/1qyqqkh8aX
