2019 is the year that many of the biggest directors in Hollywood brought their films to Netflix, from Noah Baumbach's Marriage Story and Martin Scorsese's The Irishman to Steven Soderbergh's The Laundromat, real deal directors are getting in on some of that Netflix big budget love. Perhaps the biggest movie director of them all—in terms of the pure amount of shit he puts on screen and then blows up in his movies—Michael Bay is also bringing his latest, 6 Underground starring Ryan Reynolds, to the streaming giant.

Bay is known for balancing his huge spectacle movies with relatively smaller fare stuff like Pain & Gain and 13 Hours, so it makes sense that he would do something perhaps slightly smaller scale than a Transformers movie. However, this looks like it might have had a shot at making some money at the box office. This sort of thing is almost always money in the bank.

If nothing else, the people who don't want to actually pay money to see all of the Bayhem offered in your average Michael Bay movie can avoid the embarrassment of purchasing a ticket. Perhaps that's what Bay is counting on. 6 Underground hits the streaming giant on December 13.
