I don't know if the world is crying out for a film adaptation of 2016's Brexit vote, especially with the mess not really resolved, but we're getting one. It's kinda like when Oliver Stone jumped the gun with his W. movie in 2008. His thesis statement with that film was: Son tries to do right by family legacy, ends up tarnishing family name forever. His film ends in 2004-ish, a little early to put that fine a point on things.

But I digress. Brexit is an HBO Original Film from Toby Haynes—whose Black Mirror episode "USS Callister" ranks among the best of the series—that distills the entire issue down to the personal animosity between Vote Leave supporter Dominic Cummings (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Craig Oliver (Rory Kinnear), the Director of Communications for Prime Minister David Cameron.

Anyways, the world dropped a gift in our lap with Cumberbatch's turn as Cummings, seen below...

That's who he's supposed to be in this movie. Nice try, movie.

Anywho, this will be known as Brexit: The Uncivil Union and shown on Channel 4 for our friends across the pond. For those of us in North America, Brexit debuts on HBO on January 19. Imagine if they had waited, oh, five more years to make this movie. Then you'd really have something.
