‘Nightwing’ Movie is Still Happening… At Some Point

Back when DC was still announcing projects without actually putting any of them into development, they mentioned that Nightwing was going to get his own film courtesy of LEGO Batman Movie director Chris McKay. Since then, there's been radio silence about any sort of big screen adventure from Dick Grayson's adult superhero alter ego—now that he's left childish Robin things behind.

Following months of radio silence on the project, Twitter account The DCEU Scene asked about the potential death of the project, and got a response from McKay himself saying that the project's not dead yet...

So yeah, keep hope alive and all that, but I don't know how this fits into anyone's plans for a cinematic universe going forward. They haven't even really ever done Robin right on screen, let alone the possibility of them successfully bringing his older self to the big screen. If it does happen, it needs to be a standalone, unconnected movie similar to what Todd Phillips is doing with Joaquin Phoenix's Joker.

I have a hard time believing that with Matt Reeves attempting a younger take on Batman that there's any way Nightwing fits into anyone's plans moving forward, but stranger things have certainly happened.
