Okay, we need to talk about whatever the hell is going on in these set photos from the upcoming fifth season of Gotham. We all know that The Dark Knight Returns' first act antagonist Mutant Leader is among the more ridiculous looking Batman villains, but it fit with Frank Miller's overall aesthetic. Take that character out of that context, and your left with an absolutely absurd visage that doesn't fit in this world one bit...

So yeah, that's some nonsense right there. You can't put a character like Mutant Leader in the cold light of day, he looks like a Ninja Turtles villain. At best.
I mean, if you're gonna do this much, why not go the whole nine yards and give him orange nipples? Why hold back? It's clear they're going for the Nolan-esque universe where everything's based in our reality, but it looks like garbage when you do a character like this in such a manner. This looks like some straight up David Ayer-Suicide Squad style rubbish.
Then again, that movie made a ton of money, so someone has to think that aesthetic is cool. Right? I mean, surely someone loves Suicide Squad without a hint of irony. Word to the wise, Gotham. Avoid this character altogether, please. This looks terrible.
