If you're like me, your bladder just doesn't seem designed to sit all the way through Marvel movies anymore. There was a time when I could sit patiently for the better part of three hours, all the way through trailers, the film, and the credits, just to see some useless cameo or set-up for the next film. Staring down the barrel of 40, though, made me realize that those days are over.
So yeah, I took off the minute the credits for Infinity War started, just knowing that I'd missed something big, but also resting comfortably in the knowledge that some brave soul somewhere would release a cell phone video of it eventually. Though I've seen this scene in just such a format before, it's nice to see Maria Hill and Nick Fury turn to ashes in HD, and to see the set-up for Captain Marvel as well.
The scene is followed by a trailer featuring some of the film's best scenes and funniest lines, which is a nice refresher for those of us that haven't seen this thing in nearly three months. That, "I am Groot," "I am Steve Rogers" bit still gets me every time. So long as Avengers 4 doesn't shit the bed, I don't see how this whole thing doesn't go down as Marvel's best film. Hell, it's already halfway there.
You can own Avengers: Infinity War now on Digital HD or on DVD & Blu-ray August 14.
