Despite cribbing its ending from The Iron Giant, 2012's Wreck-It Ralph was one of the best Disney Animated features to come down the pike in a long time. And since we can never have too much of a good thing, that means it's time to sequelize everyone's favorite 16-bit character for the upcoming flick Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.
While the title reeks of two years ago, I must admit that the thought of taking John C. Reilly's Ralph and Sarah Silverman's Vanellope into the world of the internet is a fun conceit. Even better, unlike last year's Emoji Movie, it doesn't seem beholden to its corporate partners and they've made up a bunch of internet related things—minus the plug for ebay. In other words, Disney has a very subtle way of masking their sponsorship agreements whereas the makers of The Emoji Movie flew them like the proverbial freak flag.
Let's be honest, anything that puts more John C. Reilly in our lives is welcome and we should be happy to see him getting work, even if we don't necessarily see him. I'm not sure the first film needed a sequel, but it's getting one when Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 hits theaters on November 21.
