Anyone who doubts Disney's in-house Animation Studio's ability to keep pace with the excellent quality of its subsidiary Pixar needs to watch Wreck-It Ralph. The 2012 film is one of the studio's best, and arguably the best film of its current renaissance that started with 2008's Bolt—a run that includes Big Hero 6, Frozen, Zootopia, and Moana.
The film is a brilliant and beautiful standalone effort that didn't need a sequel, but then again, I thought the same thing about Toy Story twenty years ago. Nevertheless, this is Disney and we're getting a sequel whether we want one or not, so here comes the atrociously titled Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. First of all, it should be Ralph Wrecks the Internet, because people would still understand the pun. Second of all, either do a number or do a subtitle, don't do both. THIRD, the subtitles comes AFTER the title. Jesus Louise-us, this is seriously the worst title for any movie I've seen since they experimented with dropping the definite articles from the "Fast and Furious" franchise.
On a positive note, the original cast including the always amazing John C. Reilly as Ralph and Sarah Silverman as Vanellope are all returning, as is most of the original creative team. That's usually a good sign, but then again you never know. Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 opens on November 21, 2018.
