One of the best films of 2015 was director Denis Villeneuve's Sicario. Now that film is getting a sequel which sees a lot of talent from the first film returning. Writer Taylor Sheridan is back as the film's writer and Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin reprise their roles from the first film for this not-quite-a-sequel titled Sicario 2: Soldado.

Fresh off his role as DJ in The Last Jedi, Del Toro returns to a role for the first time in his career—though part of me keeps hoping that Duke The Dog Faced Boy will return in future Pee Wee Herman projects—stepping back into the role of Alejandro. Brolin's also back, though he's no stranger to reprising roles, and joining the cast for the sequel are Matthew Modine, Catherine Keener, and child star Isabela Moner.

If you haven't seen Sicario, I highly recommend checking it out before this sequel hits theaters. Thankfully you've got a bit of time as the film isn't due until late June. Also worth checking out is the work of new director Stefano Sollima, who has some stuff floating around on Netflix right now. Sicario 2: Soldado hits theaters on June 29, 2018.
