Fair warning, this is a red band trailer, and thus not suitable for work...
The problem with Broken Lizard movies is that they've never lived up to the first seven minutes or so of Super Troopers. Having cut their teeth in the world of sketch comedy, the crew gave a brilliant introduction to the main characters in what was essentially a standalone short film. The rest of it played out like an SNL movie for a show none of us had watched, as they rolled out a bunch of gags loosely strung together by a plot involving a respectable actor slumming it—in this case, Brian Cox.
Having said all of that, I appreciate that the film is very funny and I totally understand why people love it and quote it on the regular. I just found it had little replay value when the rest of you begged to differ. It's cool, I hated and still do hate Family Guy while also appreciating what people find funny about it. If you are one of the film's legion of fans, may I present the new trailer for Super Troopers 2, a crowd-funded sequel to the 2002 original.
The entire Broken Lizard team is back, including Brian Cox as the captain and Jim Gaffigan as the guy who gets pulled over while they're still hazing the rookie... who has been there for fifteen years. The film will, appropriately, be released on April 20, 2018.
