GAMING

I like a good triumph over adversity story. Remember Hercules, and all those ass-pain labors he had to do? Rolling that big ol' rock up the hill and clearing all that horseshit from the Augean stables and everything? It was tough stuff, but he did it, and so was recognised as the true king of Gondor. Or something. I forget.
The point is, we respected his ass for his troubles. You've got to admire the courage (and/or dumbassery) of people who think, holy hell, that's going to be tough, and then jump in headfirst anyway. Like this guy right here.
Blind gamer Terry Garrett cannot and will not be stopped. Ever. As Kotaku reports, he's previously finished 2D games like Abe's Exoddus though sound alone, which is a feat in itself. But it's much, much more difficult to find your way through a 3D game in this way. Which is exactly why Garrett wanted to do it.
Way back in May 2011, he started a playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Armed only with a fancy chair that split the left and right audio of the game, he began his journey. His long, longity long-ass journey.
This week, Garrett finally defeated Ganondorf and completed the game. That's five years –only slightly longer than I spent lost in the effing Water Temple—well spent. For your awesomeness, good buddy, I salute you.
