This has got to be some sort of record. For the 66th year in a row, TV shows won every single award at the Primetime Emmy Awards last night.
Some of the winners were comedies, like Modern Family (Best Comedy) or Veep (Best Actress). Others were dramas, like Breaking Bad (Best Everything) or True Detective (Best Directing). A few were mini-series, like Sherlock (Best Mini-Series) or American Horror Story (Best Actress). And some were even variety shows, like The Colbert Report (Writing) and Saturday Night Live (Definitely Not Writing).
Which TV show was the biggest winner? That would be Breaking Bad. Though Sherlock took home the most statues, Breaking Bad won for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Writing, and, most importantly, Best Drama. And that's about right, because it was kinda the best show ever.
But really, TV as a whole was the big winner on the night. So put that in your pipe and smoke it, movies.
