GAMING
chris-littlechild - January 21, 2014
From the first reveal trailer, we knew that Rambo: The Video Game would be quite the one trick pony. It would bring us guns, big ol' knives, explosions, and Sly generally kicking ass as only Sly can. That was all we expected of it, and all we really wanted of it.
Demented displays of pyrotechnics aside, though, it's the gameplay that counts. Which is lucky for these bastards, as Rambo is as visually inept as a flash game from the year 2000. It really is piss-poor in that department. But anyway: gameplay.
The developer has just released another violent slice of trailer action, showcasing the (alleged) great variety in styles of play that gamers will experience here. Whether you want to shoot faces, stab faces or punch faces, right in the face, Rambo: the Video Game has you covered.
Well, that's not quite the ‘variety' that Reef Entertainment are promising. As you'll see above, Rambo dips its manly toe into several gaming genres. There's a little stealth to be had, some plain ol' FPS shoot-outs, all infused with an arcade-style score system. There's also a heaping helping of QTEs, because those aren't irritating and craptacular at all. Huzzah!
