Last week, Science gave us the breath of fresh air that we needed: we're not completely aberrant after all. Yes, it's official: sex addiction is not a disease. Phew.
For one, sex addiction didn't make the cut in the recently updated Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, or DSM-5. Then, UCLA scientists went through a series of somewhat complicated scientific science tests...for science. They basically showed a group of people some sexually suggestive images (among other images) and used their fancy smart-brains to determine that there's no real evidence to support claims of addiction or even real disorder behind the appreciation of sex and sex-like things.
So, while they didn't completely pony-up and call it normal biological function (as Egotastic's amateur scientists have long held to be true), they sure did go a long way in gettting those damned doctors with their 'cures' off our backs.
