News Not News: Robert Downey Jr. Will Officially Return As Marvel’s Iron Man

He is Iron Man. Again. Possibly forever.

Marvel reported last week that Robert Downey Jr. has officially signed on to do Avengers 2 and Avengers 3.

Phew. Well, that's a relief. We were really holding our collective breath over here. It seems baffling that anyone doubted for a second that the role of a 'billionaire, genius, playboy, philanthropist' could go to someone other than RDJ. No one's reporting the details of his salary, so we'll probably have to wait to find out what kind of Scott Boras-style nuts-twisting his agent likely employed on the fancy Hollywood lawyers and money-people who put that contract together.

If we were RDJ, we'd have demanded some pretty crazy contract riders to sweeten the deal. What's the Iron Man equivalent of a brandy glass filled only with brown M&M's?
