The 1990s was a magical time. Jim Carrey was considered a comic genius and, for a brief period, the Farrelly Brothers made movies that didn't suck donkey nads. (You can say "donkey nads" on the internet, right?)
It was during this magical time that Dumb and Dumber came out. Unlike the "prequel" that came out several years later, this one starred Carrey and Jeff Daniels, was written by Bobby Farrelly and directed by Peter Farrelly, and was funny as well.
Now, almost 20 years after the film came out, they're trying to make a real sequel. The project is called Dumb and Dumber To, and the plot apparently revolves around the fact that one of the idiots—either Daniels' Harry or Carrey's Lloyd—learns he has sired a child and must seek said child out in order to ask for one of his (or her) kidneys.
Of course, they've been trying to get this movie made for years, and just earlier this week it looked like the project was dead for good when Warner Brothers said they wouldn't be having any of it after the box office flop that was The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. However, according to Deadline, now it's looking like the $30 million project will get picked up by Red Granite.
Is that good news? Well, that will depend on whether we get the Farrelly Brothers who made There's Something About Mary, or the Farrelly Brothers who made Movie 43.
