Larry Fitzgerald now knows how all the people who drafted him early in fantasy football feel. Okay, maybe I shouldn't try to trivialize what he's going through compared to a bunch of fans, but trust me, the feeling is mutual. After yesterday's 7-6 loss to the Jets, Fitzgerald said this, according to AZCentral.com.
'I have no words,' Fitzgerald said. 'I have to laugh to keep from crying.'
It really does suck for Fitzgerald, who is seeing some of his prime years wasted with the likes of John Skelton and now RyanLindley lining up behind center. Lindley was 10 of 31 for 72 yards. 23 of those yards came on his first pass, which went to Fitzgerald. He didn't get another catch the rest of the game.
Even with the rotation last season of Skelton and Kevin Kolb, Fitz was able to produce 1,411 yards and eight touchdowns. So far this year though, he has just 650 yards and four TDs.
Kevin Kolb may be close to returning, but how effective he can be after so many weeks away remains to be seen. Fitzgerald is signed through 2018 with the Cardinals, but he has to be feeling pretty bad about his prospects if Arizona can't get their quarterback situation figured out. By the way, the Cardinals are the first team in NFL history to start 4-0 and then lose their next eight. They will try to avoid making that nine losses in a row next at Seattle.
Don't expect Larry's numbers to improve dramatically in that one.
