Chicago Bears Fans Nearly Drank Nashville Dry on Sunday

There is nothing quite like celebrating after your team wins a big game. After embarrassing the Tennessee Titans 51-20 on Sunday in Nashville it appears that fans of the Chicago Bears did a little celebrating. According to reports, a number of local establishments actually ran out of beer (or got real close to running out) that Sunday.

What? How can that be? They weren't even in Chicago! When it comes to the Bears, playing at home is a relative term these days. Fans of the team travel so well to other stadiums that away games often feel like home games.

It's been such a clear-cut advantage thatQB Jay Cutler recognized it:

"…You know you have a ton of fans when you're in an away stadium in the red zone and I'm trying to get the crowd to hush up and they're responding. They got quiet in a hurry, so it makes it fun."

Wins like the thumping the Bears gave the Titans are not the only reason the Chicago faithful have to celebrate. With the way the team is shaping up it should return to the playoffs after missing out last season. Confident of fans are already thinking about making plans to New Orleans, site of Super Bowl XLVII.

While it is still way too early to project any team as Super Bowl bound, the Bears are looking like a team that wants to get there and will do whatever it takes including score some serious points on defense and special teams.

Against the Titans the Bears scored off an interception return and a blocked punt. Being the nice guy that he is, Charles Tillman did what he could to help the offense by forcing four fumbles. On the season he has seven total forced fumbles to go with a pair of interceptions returned for touchdowns.

Tillman isn't the only one getting in on the action. Lance Briggs has a pair of interceptions he returned for touchdowns. Brian Urlacher had one against Tennessee. Tim Jennings and Major Wright each have one as well.

Factor in 17 total interceptions (tied for first in NFL), 25 sacks (tied for third), and a +16 turnover ratio and I think it's safe to say that Bears fans might have something to celebrate about.

What has fans thinking Super Bowl is not just the team's dominating defense. With the addition of Brandon Marshall to the receiving corps Cutler finally got a dependable down field threat in the form of his former Denver Broncos teammate.

So you have a defense that scores as well as some offenses in the league, one of the most prolific tandems in the league in Cutler and Marshall, and a healthy Matt Forte.

Sounds like a great reason to celebrate to me! Da Bears!

Oh yeah--bars in San Francisco, Minneapolis, Phoenix, and Detroit might want to learn from Nashville's mistake and order more beer before Da Bears come to town!
