TV & FILM

I'll admit that I kind of dug The Amazing Spider-Man in a way that I never felt towards the original three films. Maybe it's because Tobey Maguire was never believable, or that the effects were cheesy, or that no one likes Kirsten Dunst...Now that I think about it, how did anyone like those movies?
In any event, the Blu-ray release of the fourth Spider-Man is upon us, offering up HD shots of Emma Stone (and, meh, I guess also of Andrew Garfield). Included in the disc is the answer to my one real problem with the film--the backstory. It was clear there was more going on with Curt Connors and his relationship to Peter and his own dark past but those scenes were famously wiped at the last second by the studio. But now they're here for all to see.
