By the time we get through the original live-action web series Forward Unto Dawn, the folks at 343 Industries have told us the stage will be set for the release of Halo 4 on November 6. The fact that Forward Unto Dawn, the show not the ship, is set at the beginning of the war between the Covenant and humans and Halo 4 is set after the events of Halo 3 doesn't seem to be an obstacle. They're going to make all of this work out. For this reason alone Forward Unto Dawn will be worth your time and attention. Connecting two story settings that are generations apart didn't work in the disastrous Star Trek Generations and that flick had the awesome emotive powers of William Shatner AND Patrick Stewart going for it. So now you're telling me that Halo --with a bunch of unfamiliar young actors and a hero with a faceless helmet-- will pull off what a Spock-less Star Trek movie couldn't?
Okay.
Halo has way more and way better guns than stupid old Star Trek so that must be where the rubber will meet the road. Watch Part 1 and get ready for Halo 4.
