Bartolo Colon, who looks like that, was suspended 50 games today by Major League Baseball after testing positive for testosterone. Colon, 10-9 on the year, released a statement apologizing to Oakland A's fans and his teammates and then this was in there:
I accept responsibility for my actions and I will serve my suspension as required by the Joint Drug Program.
It's hilarious that these guys who get busted drop the 'I accept responsibility' line after they get nailed. When Melky Cabrera was suspended last week for the same thing, some people actually praised him for taking responsibility. What a joke. In what world does that make any sense? 'Well, he cheated, but at least he's taking responsibility for it!' That is some stupid logic.
It is interesting that two guys in the San Francisco Bay Area got nailed. BALCO was ground zero for the steroid madness, and now more guys up there are testing positive? Maybe it's something in the water.
