Word on the street is that AMC's The Walking Dead might come to the end of its zombie feeding frenzy with a feature film. This shouldn't come as a surprise, given the show's immense popularity and off-the-chart ratings. It isn't a secret either that The Walking Dead was initially pitched as a movie before AMC picked it up and decided to turn it into one of cable's most successful series to date.
These are all just rumors, of course, especially since we've still got the third season of the show to look forward to this fall. But if The Walking Dead does end up going down the movie route, this wouldn't be the first time we'll see a TV series go on to become a feature film.
But just because it was great on television doesn't guarantee its success as a movie. To prove that point, we take a look at nine TV series that went on to become movies and how each of them fared at the box office.
