We've already been treated to a preview of The Walking Dead's third season when its trailer debuted at Comic-Con last month. Aside from the usual gore and carnage of the undead, audiences were treated to good long looks at the gang's new home, the prison, and their newest foe, the Governor.
If you've read the books, then you already know that you're in for a lot of heartbreak this season. And make sure you reserve a ton of hate for the Governor, because you're going to need it once you see what he's going to do.
Season three of The Walking Dead premieres on AMC this October 14th, but to tide you over, Entertainment Weekly has debuted a deleted scene from the season two premiere of the series. Season one ended with the CDC (and Dr. Jenner) getting blown to bits. When the show returned, we saw Rick Grimes trying to reach Morgan on his walkie talkie. Seems like a pretty slow start to an otherwise explosive end, don't you think?
I don't know why they chose to kick off the season with this scene, but it turns out that they actually had a more action-packed sequence planned for it. Check it out on the player above and get ready to see some zombie heads get blown off to kingdom come!
We've also got two new zombie images for you in the gallery below. They look bloody disgusting and extremely gory--just perfect, by Robert Kirkman's standards. You can expect these two undead walkers to make an appearance in season three.
