Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones and the Glory Hole

Jerry Jones has never been one to stay in the shadows. This helped lead to the exodus of the team's Super Bowl coaching staff in the 1990s when Jones told anyone with ears that a trained monkey could have coached that team (with Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, and Emmit Smith) to the Super Bowl (okay, he didn't say monkey, but you get the point).

It's been awhile since the team has been deep in the playoffs or even been a serious Super Bowl contender. After winning three Super Bowl titles in four season in the early years of his reign as team owner, it is understandable that he would miss those days. The  question he raised after a recent press conference has people wondering just how good they were.

You'll have to watch the video; it's just too funny for words, but here's what the verbose owner had to say:

...I've been here 23 years. I've been here when it was glory hole days and I've been here when it wasn't. And, so, having said that, I want me some glory hole. So I have that perspective.

Anyone that was a fan of the 'Boys back in the day will be thinking the very thing that got some of the reporters in the room chuckling. Images of the infamous White House-- a house near the team's practice facility where many of the players including Irvin went to party-- come to mind. Back then it certainly paid to be member of 'God's Team' in more ways than one.

Now I'd like to think that Jones was referring to something from his oil and gas exploration days. Then again, the man does own the most valuable football team in the NFL not to mention he's 69. What he does he care if everyone knows he digs the glory hole days?
