Cameron Crowe kind of owned the 90s. With movies like Singles, Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous and Vanilla Sky, he became one of the most respected filmmakers in Hollywood. Then things kinda went to shit. His last two movies felt like bad SNL sketches making fun of Cameron Crowe movies and he's sort of got that Aaron Sorkin thing going for him now where you get the impression that he thinks every word he writes is precious gold.
But it's time to (possibly) get excited for a Cameron Crowe movie again because it was announced today that Egotastic! favorite Emma Stone has been cast as the female lead in his new movie, described only as a 'romantic drama' (no sense in moving out of your wheelhouse, Cam). We'll have to wait to see what male actor is cast opposite of her, but chances are it'll be a likable guy who has trouble with intimacy but listens to a lot of classic rock.
