It's been a while since we've come across a story as riveting as Cloud Atlas. David Mitchell's gem of a novel captivated readers young and old while it swept literary awards left and right, and we just hope its titular movie adaptation does it justice. But you be the judge of that.

Cloud Atlas weaves together six stories of people from different times, each one chancing upon the story of their predecessor by chance and by fate: a reluctant voyager traveling across the Pacific, circa 1850; a penniless composer struggling in Belgium in 1931; a determined journalist investigating corruption and murder in 1975; a vanity publisher fleeing from gangster creditors in the early 21st century; a genetically-engineered diner server in the dystopian future; and a tribesman living a primitive life in a post-apocalyptic future.

How their stories collide and eventually affect and shape the others' destinies is what makes Cloud Atlas so mindblowingly revolutionary. A whole set of images from the movie has just been revealed, and we've got them all in the gallery above with commentaries on what the whole gang probably aren't up to in their respective images.

Directed by Andy and Lana Wachowski and Tom Tykwer, Cloud Atlas will take you on the journey of a lifetime on October 26th.

PS. We've got a full five-minute trailer for Cloud Atlas that you can watch on the player below. It'll blow your mind so hard, you'll probably wonder what hit you when you're done watching it. Don't say we didn't warn you! Enjoy.
