Artist Removes Joe Paterno Halo on Penn State Mural

The man who painted a mural on a Penn State bookstore with Joe Paterno in the middle, then later painted a halo over the former coach's head after his death, has now removed the halo in the wake of The Freeh Report.

Michael Pilato had previously removed the image of convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky from the mural. As far as the statue of Joe Paterno in front of Beaver Stadium, the university has yet to make a decision on whether or not it will stay, despite many calling for its removal.

In the meantime, the Paterno family is starting their own investigation into the findings in the Freeh Report, which concluded that Paterno helped in the coverup of Sandusky's crimes against young boys in order to keep PSU Football from getting bad publicity. Apparently the Paterno family doesn't think Louis Freeh, a former head of the FBI hired by Penn State at a cost of $6.5 million, knows how to run an investigation.

Freeh and his team conducted more than 400 interviews, reviewed more than a million documents and spent seven months on the investigation before releasing their 267 page report last week.
