Players can finally sign free agent contracts starting today, and we've already heard most of what's going to happen, but no reason not to recap, right?
Steve Nashcompleted his sign and trade that sent him to the Lakers. Nash will get around $27 million for three years in L.A., where he hopes to finally grab his first championship.
Speaking of L.A., the Clippers locked down Blake Griffin with a five-year, $95 million deal. We'll see if that will be enough to keep Chris Paul around after the season, as he declined to sign an extension for now.
Tim Duncan isn't done yet, signing on for three more years in San Antonio. That will pretty much take Duncan to the end of his career; if he plays all three years, he'll be 39 at the end of the contract.
Jeremy Lin is supposedly pissed off at the Knicks for not getting a deal done with him quicker. Houston signed Lin to an offer sheet, that the Knicks are expected to match, but Lin's feelings are hurt because the team didn't jump up and match it the second it happened. He'll probably sign later today with the Knicks and all will be forgotten.
Dwight Howard is still not traded. The Nets are trying hard, and now other teams have gotten in the mix, but it's so complicated and convoluted that I'm not going to bother until it's finished.
Deron Williams made his contract official with the Brooklyn Nets, and check it out...he signed his contract on his iPad. He tweeted out the photo.
