Chills literally ran down my spine as I watched the latest trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. It's appropriately called 'Journey', since it shows brief scenes from the first two Batman movies to explain why we will find ourselves in the here and now that the final movie in the franchise will be opening with.
Words won't really do the clip any justice, so I suggest you hit 'play' on the player above to watch the The Dark Knight Rises: Journey trailer yourself.
It's been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning from hero to fugitive. For a time, criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the anti-crime Dent Act.
But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.
The Dark Knight Rises opens in 2D and IMAX theaters on July 20th and stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Morgan Freeman.
