It's been years since the last Ghostbusters movie hit the big screen, so the anticipation for Ghostbusters 3 is understandably high. Hopefully the hype for the movie won't cloud people's perceptions of it when they finally get to watch it in theaters.
Production hit a snag when actor Bill Murray held out from committing to the project until it got a good script. He has a point, because it would be extremely disappointing to bring the team back together, just to have the movie flop.
Earlier this month, Dan Aykroydrevealed that a new writing team was being put together for Ghostbusters 3 after Murray chucked out the script written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky earlier. They also happen to be the duo who co-wrote Year One and Bad Teacher.
We've just learned that they've been replaced by screenwriter Etan Cohen, who also worked on Tropic Thunder and Men in Black 3. Cohen will be re-writing the script for Ghostbusters 3, and given his credentials, it should be good.
The new generation of Ghostbusters will also revolved around a new (and older) generation of the ghost-busting group.
My character, Ray, is now blind in one eye and can't drive the Cadillac. He's got a bad knee and can't carry the packs... Egon is too large to get into the harness. We need young blood and that's the promise. We're gonna hand it to a new generation.
