Michael Garcia - July 6, 2012

The last couple days have been busy around the League. Deron Williams stayed with the Nets. Steve Nash is going to the Lakers. And this flurry of activity isn't even close to being over yet.

Midseason breakout star Jeremy Lin is said to be considering a 4-year deal to go to Houston, who cut him early in the 2011-12 season. Lin reportedly is leaning staying with the Knicks, but the Houston deal is pretty sweet, with the last two years of the deal being backloaded for about $10 million each. The fourth year of the contract would be Lin's option.

Michael Beasley has verbally agreed to go to Phoenix in an $18 million, three-year deal. The Suns have also already replaced Nash too, with Goran Dragic filling the point guard void. Dragic was previously with the Rockets, hence Houston trying to get Lin.

Phoenix has also offered Hornets guard Eric Gordon a four-year max deal worth $58 million, but he's a restricted free agent so the Hornets can match the offer and if they do, he stays in New Orleans. Gordon has said he doesn't want to be there anymore and hopes that he can play in Phoenix. Sucks to be a restricted free agent, I guess.

Oklahoma City has agreed to a deal with Hasheem Thabeet. The 7-3 center has been pretty much a disappointment since coming into the league, but in OKC all they're going to want him to do is clog the lane, grab some rebounds and block some shots. That's if he even sees the court. He's expected to be the third center, so don't look for him to improve his career scoring aveerage of 2.2 points.

Jameer Nelson says he is staying in Orlando. At least the Magic have one thing figured out. Maybe Nelson staying means Dwight Howard will be traded after all. The two reportedly nearly came to blows late in the season at a practice, when Howard was out with an injry.

Jason Kidd is reportedly close to a new deal to stay with the Dallas Mavericks. The three year contract would keep Kidd with the Mavs through his 42nd birthday.
