In a unique advertising campaign, Square Enix has been releasing a series of fictional news headlines from the 'Hope News Times' showcasing a string of assassinations to promote the highly anticipated 'Hitman: Absolution'. Agent 47 is back and the body count is higher than ever this time around. We've seen tons of townsfolk get whacked, we've seen leather clad nuns sent straight to Hell and now over a dozen social club members have been murdered in cold blood.

The latest release of Hope News Times has been released via the Hitman Facebook page and features the headline 'SOCIAL CLUB SLAUGHTER. THE PARTY'S OVER' and contains a gruesome picture of the inside of a social club, littered with the dead. It's definitely a testament to the skill Agent 47 still possesses. Man, that guy is so badass!

Those who actually read the text underneath will also see a hint at a possible future enemy:

The friendly town of Hope remains traumatized in the wake of a shoot-out at a local social club. According to police, 14 innocent men were found riddled with bullets in what seems to be an unprecedented display of firearms accuracy. No gunshots were heard in the reported time of the event, and the preliminary ballistics report implies the entire ordeal may have occurred in a matter of seconds. Addressing the public at today's small press conference, Sheriff Shurkey warned 'I don't care if we're hunting a ghost. Whoever this silent assassin is, he'll eventually have to face me!''

Well, I'll be sure to sing 'I shot the Sheriff' when I take you out Shurky...

There's also an ad at the bottom of the page for Bennet's Garage where you can apparently have any sort of car damage repaired at a fair price. Maybe a possible ally throughout the game? Every awesome assassin always has a tech guy or mechanic to hook him up or repair his stuff with no questions asked.

Hitman: Absolution will be sneaking it's way onto store shelves November 20, 2012 for Xbox 360 PS3 and PC.
