GAMING

Those of you drooling over Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor's epic-sized mech gameplay need to thank your lucky tanks that Xbox 360 invented Kinect. Back in my day, the first Steel Battalion came with the biggest ever-lovin' controller you've ever seen. The thing had a several dozen buttons on it to mimic the functions and form of a "real" mech cockpit and I actually ate a burrito dinner off of it while reviewing SB. It was very cool and very expensive and that original version of Steel Battalion had no chance of making that value proposition work. No game comes packed with enough fun to justify a $120+ price tag plus it came with a controller that can't be used with any other game.
With Heavy Armor, and we're paraphrasing the commercial, the controller is you.
Waving and gesturing around your mech cockpit on Kinect is a much easier way to get all of that mega mechanical tank fun going in your living room. What I'm saying is, I don't think you'll be forced to move into a bigger apartment or house because of Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor and that's a plus.
Have a gander at the launch trailer for SBHA and let us know in the comments section: will we ever see giant walking tanks? why or why not?
