From the moment Eli Manning and the New York Giants won the Super Bowl in Indianapolis, analysts were already discussing who was going to be playing in the next Super Bowl in New Orleans. All the talking heads need to have something to talk about; it's not like there are other sports or something...
All the talk will only result in more talk. There are some questions that can be answered, like who will be playing in the half time show in the Big Easy. Rumor has it that it could be none other than legendary rock band Van Halen.
Now keep in mind that this is only speculation; pure speculation at that. Someone derived from a comment that Eddie Van Halen to a USAToday reporter that the band might have something to do early in the new year, but that he couldn't talk about it yet.
[I]n November, we'll hit Japan, and in the new year, we'll possibly do something special, but I can't talk about it.
How on earth someone could think that means they are going to play the Super Bowl halftime show I do not know. They made no comment as to where this something special could be or even when. Yet, once the notion was made public the idea has spread like wildfire.
Too bad we have to wait to find out the answer.
