Floyd Mayweather Jr. Staying in Jail

Twelve days into his jail sentence and poor Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. had enough. He needed out of jail because his health was in danger. If he continues to stay where he is rather than finish his time in the general population or on home arrest he may never fight again.

The judge was not impressed and denied the request. The prosecutor put it well when he asked: Where did he think he was going? The Four Seasons? (perfect time to also say,"Clown question bro.")

An image of deteriorating health was the impression that his lawyers wanted to push on the public and more importantly the court, but it was far from the truth. The reality of the situation is this. Inmate Mayweather is not eating and drinking enough water because he is choosing not to eat the meals that the jail provides and refuses to drink anything but bottled water.

Due to his celebrity status, the jail has been kind enough to keep him out of the general population. He's been allotted exercise time, just not enough to do what he normally does as part of his training.

So basically, he wanted out of jail because the food isn't up to his standard, no bottled water, and no high quality gym equipment that he can use at will. His lawyer, Richard Wright, actually had the nerve to say that he was not trying to get special treatment for Mayweather. Go ahead and laugh now if you want.

Here's the real issue. Now that Manny Pacquiao has been defeated Mayweather may finally be willing to step in the ring with him, but he wants to bulk up like Timothy Bradley first. He can't do that in solitary where he is, but he could if he was at home (I guess he could if he was in the general population; I don't know).

Maybe if he was really concerned about the food, water, and his ability to train he wouldn't have attacked his girlfriend in front of their two kids in the first place. Incidentally, his reason for not fighting Pacquiao is because he cares about his family and wants to be able to take care of them (since Pac-Man is such a roid-rager).
