They may have started the series appearing down and out, but the Boston Celtics have proven to be anything but. After tying the series up with two clutch wins in Boston, the Celtics faced the near impossible task of having to beat the Miami Heat on their home court. As it turns out, the task was not that daunting after all.
At the half the game had the appearance of being another close battle with the Heat holding on to a 42-40 lead. A 15-3 run late in the third period put the Celtics ahead 65-60 going into the fourth.
Paul Pierce was having an off night, but he managed to sink a pair of free throws to give Boston the lead with a minute and a half to play, but it was his three with less than a minute to go that ended up being the shot of the game. It put Boston up by four which would end up being the difference in the end as the Celtics went on to win 94-90.
Game Six will be back in Boston Thursday night at 8:30 PM ET.
