In their first friendly match of three, all within the last eight days, the Men's U.S. Soccer team dominated in a 5-1 over Scotland. With high hopes they headed into their second match against talented Brazil--let's just say it didn't end well. That was okay though because the team would right the proverbial ship against Canada.

Well. so much for that.

After 90 minutes of play Sunday the game ended in a scoreless tie, 0-0 (yawn). What should be disturbing to U.S. Soccer fans is not necessarily that the team could not score on the Canadians, but that even though the U.S. had been playing together they could not score against a team playing together for the first time since losing to Armenia in February.

Even though the U.S. hasn't looked the best they are still favored to win their bracket when World Cup qualifying begins next week. Two of the four teams from each bracket will go on to the next round; the U.S. has been paired up with Antigua, Barbados, and Guatemala.

First up for the U.S. will be Guatemala. The team could catch a bit of a break here. A few members of Guatemala's National team have been accused of fixing international matches and have been removed from the team. Nothing like a little chaos and turmoil to make the job of winning a little easier!
