There are all sorts of pithy little sayings that could apply here like better late than never or good things come to those that wait. However, there is one that every Los Angeles Angels fan and every fantasy baseball player that used the first pick of their draft on Albert Pujols is likely thinking-- it's about damn time.
When the Angels enticed him to move out west by handing him a 10-year, $240 million contract they were definitely expecting a lot more a lot sooner, but if there is anyone that can bounce back it is Pujols. The man has only gone this long without hitting a home run one other time (last season when he went 27 games and 105 at-bats; this time it was 33 games ad 137 at-bats.
Pujols finished last season with 37 home runs so he has shown that he can recover from a drought and make up for it. Maybe we are now seeing why the Cardinals were not willing to pay him what he wanted (I' m just saying...).
