Which New Shows Do You Need To Watch This Spring?

Many TV Shows are deep into their current season come March and April. They are coming toward the end of their story arcs and are preparing their characters for next series. Yet for some, March is the time when their storys begin.

They are being thrust upon us just as winter is going away for a couple of months and we will soon be forced to decide whether to stay in and watch these shows or go out into the blistering sun and enjoy the fresh air. But which shows are worth lounging about for? Here are the new shows that you need to watch this spring. Enjoy.

Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 - James Van Der Beek's return to television doesn't usually spark such an interest but 'Apartment 23' was one of eight honourees in the Most Exciting New Series category at the Critics' Choice Television Awards in June 2011. An award which is voted for by journalists who have seen every pilot. This modern day odd couple also features Krysten Ritter, Dreama Walker and Eric Andre and is due to debut on April 11 on ABC after 'Modern Family.'

Awake - British actors have been all the rage in US television for a number of years now and NBC's new fantasy crime drama may have found the best thespian our friends across the pond have in Jason Isaacs. Isaacs plays Michael Britten a police officer who has just returned to work after being in a car crash that in one reality killed his wife and in the other killed his son. He is transported into each reality when he falls asleep and is able to differentiate between them by wearing different coloured rubber bands. This intriguing drama is well worth your time.

Touch - Kiefer Sutherland has cemented himself as television royalty after his performances as Jack Bauer in 24but his new series couldn't be further away from everyones favourite CTU agent. Written and created by Tim Kring of Heroes fame this supernatural drama will see Kiefer play Martin Bohm, a former journalist and luggage handler whose wife was killed in the 9/11 attacks. Fingers crossed we have a Sutherland vs Al Qaeda battle at some point.

Mad Men- Ok, I know that it's not new but the return of Don Draper, Peggy Olsen, Roger Sterling and Joan Holloway is clearly worthy of note. Having established itself as the best show of television 'Mad Men's' hypnotic and seductive characters and narratives have gained it a loyal and passionate audience with John Hamm's Draper now the greatest anti-hero since a certain mobster from Jersey.
