There are billions of apps available for download on Apple's app store. Games, calendars, GPS tools, photo editing programs, and apps for the enterprise--chances are, someone's already made an app for whatever it is you need and they're all already there on iTunes.
Apple has already made it known that millions of these apps are downloaded every minute, and now the electronics giant has just revealed that it has just recorded and surpassed its 25 billionth app store downloads. Yes, you read that right: 25 billion, as in twenty five followed by nine zeros.
So how does Apple celebrate such an accomplishment? Well, first they thanked their customers who helped them get there in the first place.
"We'd like to thank our customers and developers for helping us achieve this historic milestone of 25 billion apps downloaded. When we launched the App Store less than four years ago, we never imagined that mobile apps would become the phenomenon they have, or that developers would create such an incredible selection of apps for iOS users."

Then they shared their joy with the 25 billionth app downloader, who happens to be Chunli Fu of Qingdao of China, by giving him a $10,000 app store gift card. This was a part of their 25 Billion Apps Countdown Promotion, which had been running since February 13th.
The accomplishment is undeniably remarkable and impressive, considering the fact that Apple had only just surpassed the fifteen billion app download mark last July 2011. This means that their app store raked in over ten billion app downloads in just a matter of seven months.
Apple's competitors are still trying to catch up although they still have a lot of ground to cover. The closest on Apple's heels is Google's Android app store, which shot past the ten billion app download milestone last December.
