Samsung’s Brightside Now Available on Verizon

Samsung's Brightside will be available on Verizon starting March 1st. A lot of people I know who own touchscreen phones complain about how hard using a virtual keyboard is, while those who have phones with physical keyboards complain about how inconvenient it is to not have an on-screen one.

If the keyboard issue is a huge factor for you when it comes to choosing a smartphone, then Samsung's Brightside gives you the best of both worlds because this touchscreen phone is equipped with a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard as well.

The Brightside features a 3.1-inch touchscreen that allows users to quickly fire off text messages and access their social networking profiles with its one-touch access to messaging and contacts. The phone runs on Qualcomm's BREW MP operating system and comes with Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, GPS, an HTML web browser, and EVDO Rev 0 3G.

Other features of the Brightside include:

• Full suite of messaging options, such as text, picture and voice messaging and mobile email
• 3.2-megapixel camera with timer, brightness control, shooting modes, and scene modes
• Document viewer feature that can read and display the following formats: Microsoft Office formats, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe PDF documents; ASCII documents; HTML documents
• Image viewer that can display the following formats: JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG

The Samsung Brightside will be available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online for $99.99 with a new, two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
