Angry Star Wars Nerds Want You To Stop Using ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ to Spoil ‘The Force Awakens’

As we all know, the Internet can be a real bitch. Just try voicing an opinion in the comment section on Youtube, for instance. You'll last about half a nanosecond before someone goes all Liam Neeson in Taken on your ass. They disagree with you, they're pissed at you, they will find you and they will kill you.

There's something about online anonymity that makes people enormous, slavering, ravenous assholes. I don't understand it, myself, but it's a fact of life on the web. I'm sure even the Barney the Dinosaur fan forums get homicidal at times.

On the PC edition of the game, players make themselves avatars. Some have been customising theirs to, in GameSpot's words, ‘contain spoiler-y content for the new movie.' This is fairly widespread, too, with a Reddit forum post dedicated to the dastardly and bastardly practise.

Over Xbox way, there's something even worse going on. Some players, apparently, are going through their Recent Players list on Live just to send messages full of The Force Awakens spoilers. Can't these people find some better use for their time? These are the guys who pull wings off of flies and torture rats with hacksaws in the basement and stuff, I know it.
