So here we are, scrotes deep in the holiday season. You know how this time of year works: spending just enough time in the company of dickish family members to remember why you don't damn well see the buggers at all the rest of the year. TV commercials with grinning kids clutching some toy or other that they'll be bored of within 7 nanoseconds. Horrible-ass holiday movies like Jingle All the Way, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger punching a reindeer in the face.
Then, natch, there's everyone's favorite aspect of it all. The check. My wallet's getting sucker punched to hell over the next month or so, and I'm sure it's the same for a lot of you fine Ego-gents. This whole ‘holidays' business is horribly commercialised.
Just take an ogle at Black Friday, for instance. The day after Thanksgiving is now dedicated to crazy-ass shopping (over $50 billion was spent in the US on the day last year). Everyone wants a slice of our sweet, sweet cashtacular, and here's Microsoft making their own plug for it on the Xbox Store.
There's a huge range of Black Friday offers available on the store from now through next Monday, as well as offers on Gold subscriptions. There are over 150 discounted games, the trailer below states, so there's got to be something to tempt you. Check out the clip.
