How are our Ego-friends doing with Batman: Arkham Knight? If you opted for the PC release, not so well I'd guess. Internet piss-takery likes to call PC gamers the master race, but they got the shitty end of the stick here for sure.
Arkham Knight hit last week, and was critically acclaimed for its combat tweaks, narrative and general gameplay goodness. As is, y'know, always the case with the Arkham games. If there was one thing to bitch about, it was the excessive use of the badass new missiles-for-everyone batmobile. But if there was another thing, it was the fact that the PC edition just plain didn't freaking work.
This is 2015, damn it. Sure, we still haven't learned what a treacherous business preordering is, but we expect better than this. As with the earlier Rome: Total War 2, the game is/was a broken and buggy disaster. But don't worry, because Rocksteady know they suck ass, and they're on it.
‘Rocksteady is leading our team of developers and partners as we work on the PC performance issues that players have been encountering,' their Department of Damage Control and PRtastic reports. ‘The work is significant and while we are making good progress on improving performance, it will take some time to ensure that we get the right fixes in place.'
Said fixes (or ‘key areas where we are dedicating our resources to improve the experience for our loyal fans') include support for frame rates above 30fps, correcting the low res texture bug and general performance fixes. Hit the link for more details.
