Batman Hates Commies

Back in the silver and golden age of comics superheroes often had political agendas. Whether it's Superman fighting Hitler or Captain America being...err...Captain America, Superheroes often reflected the times they lived in and took on America's actual enemies. These were often gross caricatures that were more than not pretty darn racist. Later, during the Cold War, many superheroes also joined the fight against Godless communism. Take this video of Adam West as Batman from 1966 in which he encourages kids to buy war bonds in order to fund the Vietnam war. That's right, Batman was for the Vietnam war. By extension he also hated hippies for being against it. But we already knew that.

Of course Batman was for the Vietnam war and hated communism. His alter ego of Bruce Wayne was a total capitalist that owned a giant corporation that was probably profiting off of the building of arms and technology for the war effort. After all, Batman can only do his thing if he has money from the Wayne Corporation. Those Batmobiles and Batarangs aren't cheap.
