New iPad on the Block: Only Thing ‘New’ About It Is the Bigger 128GB Memory

So it turns out that the rumors are right, yet again. Apple seems to be having a hard time keeping their secrets these days, don't they, as leaks about a new 128GB iPad traveled all across the interwebs a couple of days ago. They've since confirmed the rumors that yes, they're releasing a fourth generation iPad with twice the previous maximum capacity, and they're not waiting very long before making it available.

These 'new' iPads will be available for purchase starting on February 5th, 2013.

That's a date Apple fanboys should remember if they want to be one of the first to get the tablet. The news isn't big at all, since the iPad isn't something that all haven't already seen before. The fact that the news didn't warrant any sort of fancy press conference should clue you in.

Instead, Apple senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Phillip Schiller, just confirmed the news: "With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs."

If they resort to repeating that line about the app-rich app store, then it's clear that they really don't have much to say about the iPad at this point.

As for prices, the WiFi-only version of the 128GB iPad will set you back $700, while the WiFi + Cellular model is priced at $929.
